What is the difference between OLED and LCD displays?+
OLED produces light per pixel, giving high contrast, a thin form and wide viewing angles; LCD needs a backlight, is usually cheaper and common in larger sizes.
When is an e-ink (e-paper) display preferred?+
An e-ink display only uses power when the image changes and is easy to read in sunlight. So it is ideal for price tags, e-readers and low-power indicators.
Why does the interface matter when choosing a display?+
I2C uses few wires but is slow (ideal for small displays); SPI/parallel is fast and provides the high data rate color graphic displays need. The microcontroller must support that interface.
