What Is the JQC-3F (T73)? PCB Relay: Specs and Uses
The JQC-3F (also known as the T73) is the most common SPDT PCB relay. Cheap and reliable, its 5/12 V coil versions switch ~10 A @ 250 VAC (COM/NO/NC). It is used in relay modules and automation. An MCU cannot drive the coil directly → a transistor (BC547/2N2222) + flyback diode (1N4007).
The JQC-3F (also known as the T73) is the most common SPDT PCB relay. Cheap, reliable and widely available, it is used in countless relay modules and home-automation projects. For the concept, see what is a relay.
What is the JQC-3F used for?
Turning mains/DC loads on/off (lamps, motors, appliances), automation and timer circuits. Contacts are COM/NO/NC; 5 V and 12 V coil versions are common (~10 A contact).
Watch out
Same as other electromechanical relays: an MCU cannot drive the coil directly → a transistor (BC547/2N2222) + flyback diode (1N4007). A snubber may be considered for contact life with inductive loads.
