What Is the BMP180? Barometric Pressure Sensor and Uses
The BMP180 is a barometric pressure and temperature sensor over I2C (Bosch, address 0x77). It does not measure humidity; altitude can be computed from pressure. It is the predecessor of the BMP280; the version that also measures humidity is the BME280. It is used in weather forecasting, altimeter and weather-station projects.

What is the BMP180 used for?
Weather forecasting, altitude measurement, drone/altimeter and weather-station projects. Pressure and temperature are read over I2C; it does not measure humidity. Its newer/more accurate version is the BMP280, and the version that also measures humidity is the BME280.
